Introducing Kramden: The Nonprofit That Is Bridging The Digital Divide

Kramden's purpose is to connect North Carolinians in building digital equity by providing refurbished devices and technology education. Kramden's community includes:

  • K-12 students without computers at home
  • Low-income adults lacking computer education
  • Nonprofits providing STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics)

One major initiative is "digital literacy programming," where volunteers assist individuals in understanding how to use computers. Workshops cover basics like turning on a computer and understanding its components. Participants receive a computer to take home after the four-day workshops!
